Agglomerating Plastics
Production waste is generated during the production and processing of thermoplastics. These are valuable materials that can be returned to the production process after suitable treatment. This saves valuable raw materials and costs.
A prerequisite for such recycling is the production of a clean, pourable agglomerate with high bulk weight without significant changes to the quality, so that the material-specific properties are retained for further processing. If the waste consists of thin plastic fibers, plastic films or foamed materials, in most cases, a pourable recycling product cannot be produced only through simple grinding.
This also applies, e.g., to carpet waste that usually consists of multiple components. Agglomeration is necessary after grinding these types of plastics. The PFV Plast-Agglomerator is the optimal machine for
-Fibers and tapes
-XPS boards
-Fitted carpets
-PET waste
-Adhesive films
-Insulation materials
-Thermoforming films
-Film waste, e.g., agricultural films
-Composite films and laminates
All thermoplastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyamide, polyester, PVC and ABS can be continuously processed by the installation. It is also possible to process composite materials such as plastic-coated paper, plastic powder mixtures and plastics with organic or inorganic components.
In contrast to other processes like extrusion, the thermoplastics in the agglomerator are not heated up to their melting point. The short dwell time in the process only subjects the material to minimum thermal stress, protecting the polymer chains and almost completely maintaining the original material quality. Thanks to its robust construction, the Plast-Agglomerator can also safely process pre-cut plastic waste with residual moisture (with an initial moisture level of up to approx. 10%).
The great advantage: The friction heat in the process also dries the product, obviating the need for additional thermal post-processing. The result is a first-class agglomerate with a residual moisture of under 1% and high bulk weight.
SRS Plast-Agglomerator PFV
SRS Agglomerators are used to process thermoplastic wastes or composites into an agglomerate that is not changed by the thermal stress. The main components of the installation are compactly mounted on a base plate or can be delivered in modular design depending on the requirements. The final product features high bulk weight and good pourability.
