Fine Grinding – Powder is not just Powder
The demand for fine powders produced from thermo-sensitive materials and thermoplastics such as LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE, PP, EVA, H-PVC, rubber, PA and ABS is growing constantly. Fine grinding installations and disc mills reliably produce high-quality plastic powders for
- Rotational molding
- Masterbatch production
- Whirl sintering
- Various coatings
- Extrusion
The constantly increasing quality requirements for pourability, bulk weight, grain distribution and grain structure all need fine grinding installations with state-of-the-art technology that can meet such requirements. Efficient further processing for complex rotation casting molds, coatings and for pipe and profile extrusion is facilitated. We supply mature complete concepts with turbofiners and disc mills, developed by experts for experts.
New mill housings and easy to clean installations enable fast and thorough cleaning when changing products or colors during masterbatch production. The individually replaceable grinding elements and the easy adjustment of the grinding gap enable high production flexibility and rapid modification of grain form for the subsequent usage purpose of the powder.
Standard installations are available for a wide variety of tasks. The installations can be easily upgraded to meet individual requirements with additional packages and numerous options. The standard program meets market requirements for a complete range of fine grinding installations with outputs of up to 1500 kg/h.
We offer fine grinding installations with integrated process monitoring for continuous multi-shift operation. Temperature and current consumption are constantly compared via a central control system to maintain the grinding process within the set operating parameters. This protects the installation reliably against overloading, ensuring stable product quality over long processing times.
Fine grinding installations for rotational molders
Fine grinding installations with integrated disc mills are specially designed for the requirements of rotational molding. They enable highly efficient processing of thermoplastic granules into pourable powders, where the process control is consistently optimized to meet the industrial standard of d90 < 500 μm. Grinding takes place at ambient temperature. The addition of coolant or water is therefore unnecessary. The intended good pourability and high bulk weight are the prerequisites for subsequent optimal distribution within the rotary mold. The quality of the plastic powder complies with the requirements set in EN ISO 6186:2023-10 (previously DIN 53492).
Fine grinding installations for masterbatches
Plastic granules are ground into high quality plastic powder by the particularly compact and space-saving fine grinding installations and disc mills for masterbatch production and compounding. The optimal grain shape of the final product and the high specific surface area enable excellent mixing and adhesion of the additives. The user can finely grind a wide range of materials such as PE, PP, PA, PC, etc. at ambient temperatures.
